What interview process tips can I follow to succeed?

Whether video or face-to-face, today’s interviews are rigorous and unpredictable, so it’s only natural that so many people find interviews stressful experiences. Here are some tips to help you ace your next job interview:

1. Knowledge is power.
Take the time to familiarise yourself with the organisation’s interview approach. Study any information they provide on what to expect, research tips from others who have interviewed with the business from sites like Glassdoor and test out any interview technologies ahead of time. The more prepared you are, the more confidently you’ll perform.

2. Get ready for the expected questions.
Take care of the obvious bits. Be prepared to answer common interview questions like why you are interested in their role. While there is no way to predict all the questions that will be asked, practising your responses to common interview questions ahead of time will help you to stay calm and confident under pressure.

3. Know your stuff.
Be sure to research the company and the specific role you are applying for. This will help you respond to their questions with appropriate context and to ask informed questions and demonstrate you are taking the role seriously.

4. Don’t test your luck.
It’s essential to be honest – if you don’t know the answer to a question, simply say so.

Ask your interview coach for our tactics when dealing with mental blanks and tricky questions.
